Drawings - Patterns

 

Patterns are an interesting type of art form and one I learned much of in college. As simple as they may seem, there is a lot of thought that goes into creating these patterns. Negative and positive space has to be considered, as well as shapes and forms on a micro and macro level. Patterns have many uses and many elements are used though they are not obvious to the untrained eyes. They are used for many reasons. One may consider the pattern in a fabric, a wallpaper, in backgrounds and so forth. They can convey meaning and feeling. It is one aspect of art I have come to enjoy very much.
